The Pilot

Last night, I had the opportunity to attend a special event, a new speaker series born from the creative collaboration of the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. This avant-garde series, themed around 'insight, inspiration, and innovation,' proved to be a beautiful fusion of art and business.

Coming from a design background, I have always been captivated by the multifaceted allure of art and its myriad forms and functions. Yet, it's disheartening to witness the lingering skepticism surrounding the value and profundity that art bestows upon our lives. Too often, pursuing a career in art and design is met with raised eyebrows and skeptical glances.

But last night, amidst the vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences, I discovered the striking parallels between the worlds of art and entrepreneurship. Both realms are represented by individuals who are curious, have the willingness to take risks, and commit to lifelong learning. Listening to the eloquent narratives of these speakers, I felt a sense of empowerment. Each anecdote painted a vivid portrait of resilience, creativity, and unwavering determination. It was a privilege to bask in the collective wisdom of such remarkable individuals.

In the end, as I left the event, I carried with me a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration, and I learned that the boundaries between art and entrepreneurship blur when approached with an open mind and an adventurous spirit.
